Our
teaching approach emphasize communication skills and encourages students to be
aware of their own progress. By introducing components of the current culture
of the Francophonie and discussing aspects of French society, we widen the horizons
of my students. In this context, discussions of French grammar become much more
interesting. In the past, Le French Link have been involved in designing course
curriculi to all levels of French. This include selecting textbooks, reading materials
and establishing bibliographies for more advanced classes. Our philosophy of education
is to study peoples, their art, history, traditions, and civilization from their
viewpoint. This challenging concept demands an open mind. This kind of understanding
from all perspectives promotes tolerance of all peoples by others while at the
same time respecting differences. Personalized attention is also an important
component of the study of a foreign language. Giving each student the time he
or she needs creates a motivational work ambiance that encourages the creativity
of students. For instance, Le French Link developed specialized course plans to
meet the needs of business and health care students at North Park University in
Chicago, IL. We believe that French for professional purposes adds a new and useful
dimension making language learning a valuable tool in the modern world of international
communication and commerce.
